Short CV:

Born and educated in England - art ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels; 2 years St. Albans College of Art, Herts., UK; B.A. Honours in Social Anthropology (SOAS, London University 1985)

1985 – 1993 Lived in Verona, Italy. Travelled. Taught English. Wrote for Rough Guides (British publishing company) and various journals.

1993 - Travelled to India (5th time), met Indian Saddu (traditional Holy man) in Hampi, they travelled together around spiritual places in India, especially the Himalayas. They married, bought land in the Himalayas and ran an ashram. Lived shamanic life in the extremely beautiful jungle. She was initiated in 1997, Kumba Mela, Haridwar.

2000 – Began painting again. Watercolour on paper. Images from the local environment – mountains, rocks, rivers, trees.

Six of these paintings were taken by ‘Art Today’ art gallery, New Delhi

2002 moved to Goa, India where she lives with her daughter, Maya. She has fulfilled commissions in all media: including signs, walls, decorations for restaurants and shops; hand painted clothes and backdrops; designs for prints on clothes; CD and book covers; portraits.

She prefers watercolour on canvas and paper. She likes the transparency of watercolour, choosing a base colour, layering more colours and shades , and adding fine details to get the desired effect.

Her inspiration comes from the nature where she has spent so much time – animals, birds, people, trees, plants, rocks and rivers, all scenes from India. Hyper realistic, at times larger than life, often against an impressionist background.

She has always chosen the Beautiful Path, which coincides with the Spiritual Path. This is reflected in her art work.
